I HAVE received Mr. Consul Litton's despatches Nos. 7 and 8 of the 30th May and the 8th June last respectively, and his Report on the survey of the undelimited portion of the Burmah-Yünnan boundary north of Manung Pum, in which he submits the conclusions arrived at in the matter by the British Delimitation Commissioners, and their recommendations for a settlement of the question.
I request that you will thank Mr. Litton for his interesting Report, and inform him that 1 propose to défer any expression of opinion in regard to the course to be adopted in present circumstances until I am in possession of the views of the Government of India on the subject.
